Companies are still at odds with whether or not they should return to office on a large scale. Now that Amazon has instructed their workforce to return to office five days a week starting in January of 2025, other companies in the tech world, and otherwise, are feeling the pressure to follow suit. There’s a push to return to the office, but they know that’s not what the majority of employees want.
Searches for remote jobs on LinkedIn go up every day, but the job market is so dire right now that people can’t afford to be picky, and lots of companies are moving to a stricter hybrid schedule, if not fully in-person. Even if it’s not what they want, in most cases, employees will bend to their employer’s will (aka working in-person five days a week) because they have no other choice.
What is clear is that there’s an in between that has seemingly looked like the best solution for a while now—a hybrid structure. People can have the flexibility to work from home one or two days a week, and companies can still have the in-person element they’ve been arguing for.
There are pros to being in the office and there are pros to being remote. There are obviously cons to both as well. But a hybrid structure pulls together the best of both.
Similarly, fluxo does the same thing—bring together the pros of both in-person and remote work while mitigating the cons. With fluxo, you can book a table for work at a neighborhood spot (bar, brewery, restaurant, any underused public space) during the day so you can work around you and your schedule, while still getting out of the house and interacting with your city. Moreover, you can book not only tables for work, but larger spaces and areas as well, so you and your team can all work together, even if you’re not in the office. By booking with fluxo, you can still collaborate in person with your coworkers or simply work alongside other living breathing people while supporting local institutions and small businesses.
I’ll shout into the void and die on this hill—hybrid work is the solution that should be here to stay. And if you add fluxo to the equation, work culture will evolve into something better than ever before.
