Where to Work Remotely in New York City: Greenpoint Edition

January 7, 2025

Here’s a handful of great neighborhood spots to work from for all you remote or hybrid Greenpointers.

by Kate Lewis for fluxo

Disclaimer: These are coffee shops, so please purchase accordingly with the time spent in their seats! Working from local neighborhood spots on days you’re remote is great, but remember that they’re also trying to run a business and taking up a table for too long without buying anything is, quite frankly, annoying for them. And it hurts their business.

Another disclaimer: All of these places have multiple locations but for this specific list I’m speaking to the Greenpoint ones. But that just shows that there’s great coffee shops all over the city, so that’s cool.

(Also, they all have wifi).

Sweetleaf Coffee Roasters

Sweetleaf is the ultimate WFH spot in Greenpoint. There’s tons of seating, good coffee, and a delicious food menu, too. The space is big but cozy and on any given weekday you’ll be typing away amongst many other remote workers.

Odd Fox Coffee

Odd Fox has great coffee and great vibes. There’s a solid amount of seating inside, but if the weather is nice, their Greenpoint location has an awesome backyard area with big tables and a ton of space. In the fall you feel like you’re in one big leaf pile, which is kind of an amazing environment for work if you ask me.

Cafe Grumpy

Yes, yes, they have a million locations in New York City, but the Cafe Grumpy on the corner of Meserole and Diamond is great for getting some work done (it was also the first location of their many). It’s spacious, leafy, and has large tables—something that’s pretty hard to come by in NYC coffee shops. So this is a good spot to meet a friend or colleague for some work time.

Variety Coffee Roasters

Another one with lots of locations across New York City, the Variety in Greenpoint (on Driggs) is a great one for getting some work done. You know the drill, solid places to sit with your laptop, fresh coffee, and sweet treats to keep up your will to live while you work. Great vibes stave off the impending doom of deadlines and decks.

We're unlocking spaces all over New York City for remote and hybrid individuals, teams, and companies to sit, work, and stay a while. With fluxo, you can book space for work effortlessly and on-demand.
